STATUS OF RESISTANCE

The most urgent antibiotic resistance problems identified by APUA Austrian members are:
  • Lack of surveillance of antibiotic use and resistance
  • Lack of updated antibiotic use and treatment guidelines
  • Lack of continuing medical education on antibiotic use for prescribers
  • Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI)

CHAPTER ACTIVITIES

Until 2009 APUA Austria's antibiotic stewardship activities were mainly focused on the hosppital sector but since then they have tried to reach the primary care sector as well.
